Frequently asked questions

You will find the most frequently asked questions below. In addition, you can contact our team for any other information you may need. We are available to answer your questions at any moment, prior to your arrival or during your stay.

What is the definition of naturism?

The principal characteristics of naturism as a lifestyle are the practice of nudity together, and the desire to live in harmony with a preserved natural environment. Respect is very important to naturism: respect for others, for oneself, and finally, respect for the environment. Naturism is a rapidly expanding practice and attracts a more and more varied population. It is a sociable, peaceful, fulfilling lifestyle. The body is liberated, and the mind freed with it. Completely naked, you no longer fear the opinion of others. You learn to love your body as it is, as well as respect the bodies of others. Completely naked, class differences are forgotten and we live in harmony, with serenity and liberty.

Are naturism and nudism the same thing?

Not at all! Naturism is a lifestyle based on the courteous practice of nudity together, as well as respect for the natural environment. It conveys values such as tolerance and sharing. A nudist simply undresses, for a swim for example.

When must I be naked?

For a fully shared experience of naturism by each participant, we encourage total nudity as much as possible. You will quickly realise that the atmosphere is more serene when everyone is naked. Total nudity is, indeed, essential in all the bathing areas: beach, pools, spa. Of course, we understand that in the event of bad weather or for medical reasons, or for a particular sport, you may prefer to be dressed. We also understand completely and tolerate that children and teenagers are modest and may prefer to wear a sarong or towel. Finally, we request you are clothed depending on the place or activity: the restaurant in the evening, dances, etc.

Is the Arnaoutchot campsite-village suited to family holidays?

Indeed! Arna encourages wholesome naturism with the whole family. We are happy to see children and teenagers at Arna, and do everything in our power to make sure their holiday is happy.

We pay particular attention to their respect and well-being, and do our best to organise a wide range of fulfilling activities. Many areas have been designed with them in mind. If you have young children... They will probably be delighted to be rid of their clothes during your stay. Holidays are an excellent opportunity for them to learn to discover their bodies, to live close to nature and respect the nudity of others. You want to bring your teenagers? It is important to know that it is an age when modesty can surface. At Arna we are perfectly conscious of that, and understand perfectly if they prefer to wear a sarong or towel when outside the bathing areas. Don’t hesitate to ask us if you need advice for managing the situation. And be reassured that no dubious attitudes likely to disturb children or adults are tolerated in our campsite-village. Furthermore, at Arna we only receive guests who have been recommended or who have already stayed in a France 4 Naturism holiday village. We provide a safe and serene environment for a lovely holiday.

What are the rules in a naturist centre ?

So that everyone has a happy naturist holiday, there are some rules which must be observed. Nudity is obligatory (except for certain exceptions, see the paragraph “When must I be naked”) Respect, discretion, and tolerance are essential, as is perfect personal hygiene. When you are moving around the village, always have a towel to sit on: on the terrace of the bar, in the restaurant, at the reception etc. The natural environment must be preserved. Natures provides us with so many treasures. Let’s show our gratitude.

I would like to bring my dog/cat. Is this possible?

Yes, of course. Nonetheless, to keep noise to a minimum, only one dog is allowed per pitch. Moreover, all pets must be vaccinated against rabies and identified (certificates required). Pets must be kept on a leash and walked outside of the centre. Please clean up after your pet: waste bags are available from bag distributors throughout the resort.

How far away is the beach? Is it supervised?

There is a fine, sandy naturist beach 5 minutes’ walk away. It can be accessed directly from the resort and is supervised from the end of June to the beginning of September.

Which services are available at the resort?

It is important for us that you should be able to find everything you need in our resort. We organise a wide range of activities and have an extensive set of sports equipment, children's clubs, 3 restaurants, 2 bars, bicycle hire services, a market, a grocery, a bakery, a launderette, etc. Please contact our team if you have any questions
